Faster than a speeding bullet? More powerful than a locomotive? David Impey - or 'Neo' to those who aliken him to Keanu Reaves in the Matrix - joins purestone heading up the digital development team. Working across all digital media David brings an extensive understanding and experience of new media and current standards of development. Delivering multiple projects for Apple iOS devices, iPhone and iPad including Android variants. David also has a wealth of experience in enterprise level CMS solutions having worked with a number of leading platforms in the past 10 years.  David will play a major part in helping to shape the direction and development of purestone's technical future and is a great acquisition for the agency.

What's your background?

"Well, both my parents were teachers and all they wanted was for me to study study study. University was a given and I decided to study cybernetics, I was fascinated with all things robotic. I wanted to see if Johnny 5 from Short Circuit could really be brought to life (I'm kidding of course), but just loved the challenge cybernetics presented."

How did you get started in development?

"Again, at university. When all was said and done, it was the code side of things that fascinated me the most. I loved the logical approach to it. The more I did it, the more I liked it. Eventually I knew that that was what I wanted to do. The web was taking off so I applied the skills there and never looked back."

What aspect of your job do you love the most?

"Easy, solving problems! Any challenge where someone says how do we do this, I am all over it. It's sad to say, but it's a bit of a rush when you solve that problem… when your code fills in the blanks and just works. I love it."

Who do you admire?

"My wife! She inspired me by one day deciding to change her whole life and re-training as a developer and moving to the UK from Australia. She's just finishing her Masters degree now… and she is a very very good developer to boot."

What are you working on at the moment?

"Mastering Sitefinity! I absolutely love it, and have been working with Sitefinity to develop their platform, so you might say I am aiming for a black belt in Sitefinity."

What's on the horizon that peeks your interest?

"Mobile App development… it is everywhere at the moment. PhoneGap software, web service content streamed straight to the phone, SignalR, realtime information. Windows Surface is going to receive a lot of my attention as well."

One last question. what's your favourite film?

"The Matrix… seriously."
